How Validation Works

Parking Validation Signs are an essential component to a successful parking lot marketing program. They are used to enforce the rules of the parking lot and to enforce parking fees. Parking validation signs are also called HVAC Signs. They are mounted on top of the parking garage doors, on the sides of the parking garage doors and occasionally in the parking lot itself. They are most effective if they are displayed at the time that a customer arrives in the lot after they pay the parking ticket.

The purpose of a parking validation sign is to alert the customer to the fact that the time has come to validate their parking license. This signage lets customers know that the parking facility requires proof of ownership before permitting access. This can be done by printing out a temporary decal or a permanent one depending on your preference. If you use a permanent signage the front of the decal should read "validated parking facility" while the backside can be left blank.

A Parking Validation Sign is most effective if it is displayed continuously for approximately half an hour. You can do this by mounting the signage in advance over the garage door and then when the customers arrive at the entrance after paying the parking fee, they can read the signage and validate their parking passes. However, if you are using a temporary HVAC valet sign, you will need to mount it over the garage door once the customer arrives at the entrance after paying the parking ticket. In this case, the signage should read "HVAC valet service on call." If the customer chooses not to use your HVAC valet service, they will not see your HVAC valet sign and will not validate their parking pass. ParkingBOXX validation signage works on two different levels. The first level involves the customer simply reading the signage as he or she walks into the parking facility after paying the parking ticket. Secondly, customers may validate their parking passes by taking a special photo card and scanning the card at any point while they are in the parking facility. When the parking validation sticker is scanned, the software will deduct the appropriate charges from the card.

Photo-ID Systems at https://parkingboxx.com/parking-validation has been a huge success since they were introduced about ten years ago in the U.S.. Originally, the photo-id systems used biometric readers such as fingerprint scans or handprint scans. These systems could only reliably detect vehicles that had a printed photograph of the driver. Ten years ago, the U.S. Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) launched the Photo-ID System Improvement Program (PSIP), which required all vehicles to be equipped with the latest biometric readers that performed higher photo-id performance than those of the previous years. The improvements included more robust identification of drivers, such as face recognition, increased photo-id readability, and better image resolution. Today, all DMVs have installed photo-id systems with improved image resolution and greater photo-id readability.

Validation is used to determine if a person who does not have a valid license can legally drive a vehicle. Validating a parking system is required when a person wishes to park their car in a parking facility. Free parking passes are given for some facilities such as hospitals and schools. Validation is very important to ensure that people who do not have a valid pass will not be able to legally drive a vehicle.
